Some people love getting manicures. Painting my own nails is MY self-care. And in these crazy times, I think painting your own nails is a safe way to feel a bit more polished.

I recently reviewed my nail polish collection and it was looking......rough. So many bottles were separating and had a grimy film in them. I've explored many nail polish brands and love the classics: OPI, Essie and Sally Hanson. However, I really wanted to declutter my collection and simplify everything by only keeping a few colors. Nail polish is one of those things that is easy to collect a lot of, but is never fully used before it goes bad.

In my search for the perfect nail polish...I think I've found something pretty darn close. Enter: The Expressie Nail Polish by Essie.

Expressie Nail Polishes
$9 at Ulta Beauty

These polishes are INCREDIBLE. They dry down in 1 minute and come with an angled brush that makes it easy to paint nails using either hand.

It comes in 40 beautiful colors as well. I love this polish because I can paint my nails VERY quickly (even before bed!) and it dries down fast in between coats. Essie recommends two coats, but I do three because I feel like it has better staying power when I do this. Essie claims that you do not need a top coat when the product dries, but I love a very reflective nail so I always put on my Seche Vite or Orly top coat for extra shine.

One con of this product is that my nails do tend to chip after 3 days (UGH the Covid Chip!). I wash my hands a ton though so this is probably why. However, since the product dries so quickly and is easy to remove, I don't really mind having to paint my nails every few days.

I own five shades of this polish, and I hope to add one or two more shades to my collection. However, I feel like my collection is pretty much complete overall.
